Nicholas Dean of OCEAN Independence as Course Director for Diploma in Superyacht New Builds

The Maritime Training Academy is extremely proud to announce Nicholas Dean, Managing Partner of OCEAN Independence as Course Director for their established and innovative distance learning Diploma in Superyacht New Builds. With over 37 years’ in the yachting industry Nick has amassed extensive experience in sale and purchase, yacht charter, management and new build supervision. Nick’s love of sailing began at a very early age and in the last 27 years he has been instrumental in the grass-roots growth of the industry. As an established Board Member and later becoming Chairman of the MYBA Charter Committee, Nick has been integral in the development and revision of their sale and purchase and charter agreements, respectively.

He is also a founder member of the recently formed LYBRA. In 2005, Nick joined forces with great friend and professional associate, Peter Hurzeler, to form OCEAN Independence as joint Managing Partners. Together they have grown the company from strength to strength, now with 16 offices spanning the globe and a team of over 80 brokers and support staff. With the acquisition of Cavendish White and more recently Primo Yacht, OCEAN Independence is now considered one of the leading yacht brokerage companies worldwide.
