Careers – old

Completing one of our Courses is a great way to boost your career prospects

Studying for one of our courses is a great way to boost your maritime career prospects, whether just embarking on a career, or looking to enhance your progression. Our industry-recognised courses offer a qualification tailored to your chosen profession, proving a sound knowledge of the subject and the key skills required. Undertaking independent study offers assurance to an employer that you have attained a good level of training and that you are committed and highly motivated to succeed. Most of our students work full time and study part time, demonstrating great organisational and time-management skills, giving them a distinct advantage and competitive edge.

What next?

It is always a good idea to plan what you are aiming to achieve on completion of your Diploma, whether it is obtaining a specific role, further training or both.

Each Diploma is a valuable qualification in itself and may well be all you need to progress to the next stage. However, if you are considering continuing training to a higher level, your Diploma can help support a successful application.

Maritime Training Academy Diploma’s are recognised by the University of Portsmouth and can be included in the portfolio of evidence for Accredited Prior Learning (APL) in applying to their partnership program’s work based learning degrees.

Study at your own pace

Most of our students work full time and study part time. This flexible route to earning a qualification allows you to do as much or as little study as you can, alongside your job. Building your experience and qualifications at the same time also shows employers how committed you are.

People who successfully complete our Diploma courses can use them as part of the evidence offered in a portfolio for claiming Accredited Prior Learning (APL) against the University of Portsmouth’s partnership programme work-based learning degrees.

The value of study isn’t just about the qualification you receive at the end; it’s the way it can change your life as a whole. So, if you want to improve your prospects through getting a qualification for a maritime career, then we will support you every step of the way!
