It’s always great to try new shows, and the team recently attended their first Seawork show. It’s always nice to meet people face-to-face, catch up with familiar faces and see what’s happening across the industry, so the team headed down to Southampton for the day.
Arriving in Southampton
After a very wet and rainy journey and some questionable games of Eye Spy in the car, the team eventually arrived at the Seawork exhibition by Southampton Docks.
The team got to catch up with Ashley, our Operations Director, and Andrea, our Student Liaison Officer and part of our Publications Team. It was a great opportunity to take a break from the usual day-to-day routine, spend some time together and explore the event.
The Seawork Event
The team spent the morning exploring the exhibition and getting a feel for the event, meeting exhibitors and discovering more about what’s happening across the industry.
Being able to see everything in person gave the team a much better insight into what’s happening now, as well as what’s coming up across the industry. It was also a great chance to meet more of the people behind the businesses and organisations they regularly hear about and, most importantly, put faces to names.
As this was the team’s first Seawork show, it was interesting to experience the event and see the range of companies, products and services on display. There was plenty to explore and take in!
Visits like this are a great way for the team to meet new people, share knowledge and understand more about the different parts of the industry. They’re also a good opportunity to experience something new together and see first-hand what’s happening beyond the usual day-to-day work.
After a busy morning exploring the show, the team headed for lunch. It was a chance to sit down, catch up and talk about some of the highlights from the morning before making the journey back home.
A Great Day with the Team
Although it was only a day trip, it was great for the team to experience the show together and meet some of the people working across the industry.
From the rainy drive down and questionable Eye Spy skills, to exploring the exhibition, catching up with colleagues and enjoying lunch together, it was an enjoyable day and a great opportunity to get out of the office.
The team is already looking forward to seeing what other shows and events are on the calendar and, of course, improving those Eye Spy skills for the next road trip!
Until next time, Southampton!
