The Office Team Comes Together to Support Breast Cancer Awareness.
For the week of the 19th- 23rd October, the office came together for a week of awareness, appreciation and celebration, recognising the progress being made in cancer research and showing our support for everyone affected by cancer.
The office was full of pink in support of cancer research, with colleagues enjoying lots of homemade bakes and refreshments, sharing stories and taking part in fundraising and awareness activities. The week provided a great opportunity to come together, raise awareness and learn more about the important role cancer research plays in improving outcomes for people living with cancer.
How we got involved:
Wearing Pink
The office was full of pink as the team came together to show their support for cancer research and raise awareness of the impact cancer has on individuals and families.
Sharing Resources
We shared important resources on Touch, Look, Check, with gentle reminders displayed around the office to encourage everyone to check themselves regularly and be more aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Fundraising
The team came together to support fundraising efforts, helping to raise awareness and an incredible £240.00 for the cause.
Sharing Support and Personal Stories
Fiona, our Graphic Designer, spoke with the team and courageously shared her personal experience of how cancer has affected her. Her heartfelt story brought a personal perspective, highlighting the impact cancer can have on individuals and those around them, while reminding us of the importance of awareness, early detection and supporting one another.
The celebration highlighted an important message: “Cancer research gives people hope, and we wanted to celebrate the progress being made while remembering everyone affected by cancer.”
The team reflected on the importance of coming together to support a cause that touches so many lives. The week was a wonderful reminder that even small acts of support can make a difference by raising awareness, encouraging conversations and contributing to the wider effort to advance cancer research.
