The online course consists of 1 module that must be completed within 6 months. The module consists of text, tables and pictures to assist in your learning. Following the completion of the course content, students must pass 20 multiple-choice questions with a score of 70% or higher.

Meet the Course Author
Dr Genevieve Marais
Dr Genevieve Marais is a Counselling Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist who has worked in the field of psychology since 2007 and in private practice since 2012. She offers online, one-to-one therapy for young people and adults, drawing on an integrative framework that combines a range of evidence-based psychological perspectives with individually tailored treatment approaches. Her work incorporates transpersonal psychology, energy psychotherapy, and sound therapy to support mind–body–soul integration. Through this holistic approach, Dr Marais helps clients cultivate a grounded “felt sense” experience of self, enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, and embodied presence. Clients often report becoming more attuned to their needs, leading to greater self-confidence and more harmonious personal and professional relationships.
Dr Marais has extensive experience working with a wide spectrum of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, workplace challenges, developmental issues, and existential questions. She also supports individuals seeking to strengthen confidence, self-esteem, and self-reflexivity, with a particular interest in creative therapeutic methods that foster authentic engagement with self and others from a place of conscious awareness.
She holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute via Middlesex University, a Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute, a Conversion Diploma in Psychology for Graduates from London Guildhall University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes University.
Dr Marais is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. She has a strong interest in the mind–body connection and body-based wisdom and has undertaken additional training in Energy Psychotherapy.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Marais is an author and researcher. She co-authored a peerreviewed article on therapist self-disclosure published in the European Journal of Qualitative Research (2021) and later authored a book on therapist self-disclosure (2024). She also delivers in-person wellness workshops both locally and internationally, focusing on mind–body connection, energy awareness, mindfulness, meditation, and holistic wellbeing.
Dr Marais’s clinic practice operates exclusively online.
