This year marked our first time attending the Palma International Boat Show, and what a fantastic introduction it was. With sunshine, sea air, and a relaxed atmosphere, it turned out to be the perfect show to explore, connect and catch up with the maritime community.
We had the pleasure of catching up with our friends at Praxis. It was a real highlight to see them at the show—especially as one of their team is a student of ours.
A standout moment was connecting with the team at Pantaenius Yacht Insurance. Not only were they a pleasure to speak with, but we’re also thrilled to have some of their staff enrolled on our Superyacht Management Diploma. It’s great to see companies investing in professional development—and their slush puppy station was legendary!
The Superyacht Management Diploma itself was a hot topic throughout the event. We spoke with a number of UK-based Captains who are now looking to transition into shore-based roles, and this course looks like the perfect next step in their evolving careers.
It was also lovely to meet some of our current Superyacht Purser Diploma students in person. They’re both enjoying the course and it was great to hear such positive feedback face-to-face.
As first-time visitors, we were especially impressed by how easy the show was to navigate and how naturally conversations flowed. Palma’s relaxed pace and friendly environment made it easy to bump into familiar faces and build new connections.
Of course, no trip to a boat show would be complete without admiring the stunning line-up of superyachts. The show offered an impressive display and it was inspiring to see the vessels that many of our students and graduates are working on or aspiring to manage.
A huge thank you to the organisers and everyone we met—we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
