Maritime Training Academy secures course funding collaboration with the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund (MATF) & Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (HKMPB)

 

Three Maritime Training Academy courses – Diploma in Liquefied Natural Gas Shipping, Diploma in Ship Surveying and Diploma in Technical Ship Management, have been accepted onto the list of pre-approved courses/examinations (maritime-related) of the Professional Training and Examination Refund Scheme (ProTERS) under MATF.

To qualify for an 80% refund of fees, subject to a maximum of HK$18,000 (whichever is less) for the above courses, applicants should be:

      • An individual.  Applications from company/organisation will not be accepted
      • A resident of the HKSAR and lawfully employable in Hong Kong, and
      • In full-time employment in the maritime or aviation sector with an organisation/company in Hong Kong

 

Other pre-requisites stipulate that the applicant must have enrolled in one of the pre-approved courses, or taken one of the pre-approved examinations on or after 11 January 2014. They must have completed the course to the satisfaction of the course provider or passed the examination. And, the applicant must not have been granted any other form of government subsidy or financial assistance for the relevant pre-approved course/examination.
